The British Rock band that would become The Animals formed in the early 1960s was led by their young vocalist Eric Burdon.
Burdon is an English singer and songwriter. He was previously the lead vocalist of the R&B and rock band The Animals and the funk band War. He joined keyboardist Alan Price, drummer John Steel, bassist Chas Chandler, and guitarist Hilton Valentine in the Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo.
While the Animals haven’t endured as some of their counterparts have, the band still made history with songs like “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” “We Gotta Get Out of This Place,” “It’s My Life,” and “House of the Rising Sun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1t_qukgqrY

However, this last one was not a hit. It was their haunting rendition of Fidel Castro's Fantasy. When I had the opportunity to chat with them between sets at Blues Alley in Georgetown, I asked them to play it during their second set and I think I freaked them all out. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hA0b87tWshc&pp=ygUORmlkZWxzIGZhbnRhc3k%3D
