Whenever I leave you, please don't be sad or shed tears. Start with a smile for my memory and live your life just like before.
Reach out your hand to comfort others and never be afraid of the end because I will still be waiting for you.
Based on annual data from the American Community Survey, the United States Census Bureau regularly publishes information on the most common languages spoken at home. As of 2023 Spanish speakers make up about three-fifths of all foreign language speakers. It also reports the English-speaking ability of people who speak a language other than English at home. In 2017, the U.S. Census Bureau published information on the number of speakers of over 350 languages as surveyed by the ACS from 2009 to 2013, but it does not regularly tabulate and report data for that many languages.
The three most spoken native languages by the people of the United States of America (United States) are
- English – 245 million (78.5 percent)
- Spanish – 41.3 million (13.2percent)
- Other most spoken popular migrant languages – 8.3 percent Chinese (including Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, and all other varieties) – 3.40 million (1.1 percent)
