DEMOCRACY

Submitted by ub on

The true meaning of democracy is that our government is elected by citizens casting ballots for a chosen candidate.

Here, citizens vote for their government officials. These officials represent the citizens' ideas and concerns in government. Voting is one way to participate in our democracy. Citizens can also contact their officials when they want to support or change a law.

Democracy, meaning "rule of the people", is a system of government in which the citizens exercise power directly or elect representatives from among themselves to form a governing body, such as a parliament. Democracy is sometimes referred to as "rule of the majority".

Cast your ballots for the intelligent and experienced veep, not the criminal, incompetent, and increasingly weird creep.

If this is the most important election in our lifetime, why isn’t everyone working diligently to inform our fellow Americans?

While often categorized as a democracy, the United States is more accurately defined as a constitutional federal republic if we can keep it!
