MERRY MOMENTS

Submitted by ub on

I try to live in the appropriate present and in the moment and have fun, regardless of where you may find yourself.

I don't stare in the mirror, I'd think to myself that I am alive and healthy so this is what I need to be content.

When I was young I liked to go below the midday sun. Those days are now long gone. But luckily I'm still glowing.

There is no reason to rush somewhere else because if you can make it here wherever it is, you can make it anywhere.

I keep my mind with the current. Stay totally with the act in such a way that there's no intrusion of any other thought. Whenever any thoughts intrude and i notice that my mind is being carried away by those thoughts….I bring my mind back to that act.

When we can perform every act of our life in this way, right from the time of getting up in the morning till you sleep, without allowing our mind to be distracted by other thoughts, then we’re living in the approximate present.

It's not at all an easy practice. It's very strenuous. For quite sometime, it will be so! The mind is restless by nature and it wants to go to the past or to the future. It hardly wants to focus on the task at hand…whatever the task may be.

There's no need to get disheartened however. With relentless, persistent and a determined conscious practice, the mind slowly begins to focus on the task at hand and starts living in the approximate present.

Whatever I happen to be doing right now, that's the approximate present. I may be writing, preparing something to eat or drink, cooking a meal, eating a delicious meal, walking, or whatever activity that I happen to be indulged in…either by the day or by the night…

And so it goes…
