A Ford Motor Company dealership in Kansas has been unable to deliver a sold F-250 pickup truck.
The problem is not the high cost of gasoline, a robin built a federally protected nest on one of the vehicle’s tires.
Under U.S. wildlife protection laws, active bird nests containing eggs or chicks cannot legally be disturbed or removed until the birds leave on their own.
This unusual situation has delayed the truck’s handover, with the dealership forced to wait for the robin family to finish nesting.
Baby I’m amazed, amused and touched by the unexpected clash between wildlife protection laws and everyday business operations.
