Tracking Trump’s presidential promises Last updated Dec 2025 Donald Trump made a lot of big promises during his 2024 run for the White House.

The Associated Press is tracking some of them. Here’s a look at whether Trump is delivering on key commitments:

Immigration — largely delivered on the headline goal. Trump campaigned on the largest deportation program in American history, and DHS reported more than 605,000 people deported since Jan. 20, with another 1.9 million self-deporting; border crossings dropped sharply, from over 211,000 in March 2022 to roughly 8,000 by March 2025. NBC News

January 6 pardons — kept. Trump pardoned nearly all defendants charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot on his first day back in office, following through on a pledge he'd made repeatedly during the campaign. The Hill

Economy/inflation — mixed, contested. Trump has said he "ended inflation," but the most recent CPI report showed prices up 0.3% for the month and 2.7% year-over-year — below the prior year's pace but still above the Fed's 2% target. Spectrum Local News

IVF — mostly unfulfilled as promised. Trump had pledged the government or insurers would cover IVF costs, but a year in he's only signed an executive order requesting recommendations, plus a modest drug-cost deal and a voluntary employer benefit — far short of the "free IVF" promise. MS NOW

Ukraine war — broken/unfulfilled. He famously said he'd end it within 24 hours; that hasn't happened.

Housing — largely aspirational so far. Trump promised aggressive housing reform for 2026, floated 50-year mortgages and ending capital gains taxes on home sales, and the "big beautiful bill" expanded the low-income housing tax credit — but home prices have kept rising. AllSides

EVs/emissions — kept. He reversed Biden's target of 50% zero-emission vehicle sales by 2030. Spectrum Local News

There are several independent trackers keeping a running tally if you want a fuller list — AllSides, NBC News, and a nonpartisan Trump Commitment Tracker are all logging dozens of individual pledges rated kept/broken/pending.
