INNOCENT INVINCIBILITY

Submitted by ub on

Every one of us faces constant obstacles that could potentially derail our progress toward individual and steady success.

I recall a younger time when mortality seemed like a myth. When the thought of getting hurt was secondary to the joy of being involved in a great adventure. I invite everyone to feel invincibility pulsating through our veins, somewhat of a nervous system reset.

This is Innocent Invincibility, and I consider it a strength because it allows action when scared and turns dreams into reality when uncertain. As many teenagers, without toxic stress, and early encounters with mortality, I once perceived myself as invincible.

What strength do you have that you want to connect with? These connections to our strengths are important because “energy flows where our focus goes.”

I am an American of Hispanic-ancestry, who grew up on this side of civil rights. My pre-civil rights, college-educated parents gave me an empowering identity before the world could give me a toxic one. I felt encouraged to participate in things and express whatever I was feeling pain or joy. Even though I was part of an ethnicity that was kicked in the butt, I was young enough to be buffered by other groups.

My parents, rest in power saw “magic” in me. When you are a young person and vulnerable to intergenerational wounds that you didn't know existed, that becomes transformative. They helped nurture my “Innocent Invincibility.”

The key is to embrace positive habits to help us become unstoppable – to be able to pursue our goals despite challenges.

  • Embracing it proactivity instead of passively waiting
  • Setting clear, ambitious goals for ourselves
  • Building resilience to navigate any setbacks
  • Cultivating self-discipline to establish productive habits
  • Constantly learning reveals untapped potential
  • Building strong relationships to achieve support
  • Prioritizing health and wellness to fuel performance
  • Practicing mindfulness and self-reflection for clarity
  • Maintaining a positive perspective to sustain ambitions
  • Expressing gratitude and savoring small pleasures

The path to extraordinary growth begins with a single step forward each day. Integrating these fundamentals with individual aspirations leads to previously unfathomable destinations.

Progress requires patience with ourselves and the process – gains compound gradually, not overnight. But visions once seemingly impossible can transform into reality through practicing these nine habits.

The only limits are those we impose through excuses rather than actions. But by finally putting intentions into motion, we open doors to becoming entirely unstoppable – personally and professionally.
