Syria is Too Dangerous For Iraqis

Violence and threats have forced more than 10,000 Iraqi refugees in Syria to flee the country over the past week, the United Nations refugee agency said today, with the majority returning to their home country in spite of security concerns.

“Thousands of Iraqi refugees have had to relocate from the Damascus suburb of Seida Zeinab to other suburbs. Some cited direct threats to their safety, while others expressed a fear of being caught up in the violence,” the spokesperson for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Melissa Fleming, told reporters in Geneva.

Hollywwod Movie Making Mend

Following the Aurora, Colorado movie massacre, Warner Brothers has reportedly announced that the upcoming movie "Gangster Squad" will omit a scene in which gangsters open fire on the unsuspecting audience of a crowded movie theater.

That clip was previously featured in the movie's trailer, which ironically ran right before Thursday night's fateful screening of "The Dark Knight Rises."

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today voiced concern about the possible use of chemical weapons in the Syrian conflict and stressed the need for the international community to keep a close eye on the situation.

“It would be reprehensible if anybody in Syria is contemplating use of such weapons of mass destruction, like chemical weapons,” Mr. Ban told reporters in Belgrade, Serbia, where he is on an official visit.
