The October Meeting of the City Island Civic Association took place and ended last night without it's President, or VP in attendance at 190 Fordham Street.
Although residents are always welcomed, several regulars were also missing from the monthly meeting.
There were no guests scheduled to speak and little was actually accomplished. Does that mean that in this particular case, no news is still good news?
Perhaps the low attendance had something to do with the October 2010 meeting notice, which as yo can see, makes reference to 2010 and was

Sanitation Commissioner John J. Doherty and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. today announced a public awareness campaign to remind dog walkers to pick up after their dogs, as required by the law.
Tomorrow afternoon @ 4:30 PM, Council Member James Vacca will join Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene, as well as students and faculty from the Bronx High School for the Visual Arts, to cut the ribbon on the school’s recently renovated library and computer lab. Vacca and Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. allocated a combined $340,000 to fund the project, which included new flooring and furniture in the library, upgraded wiring, and new computers for the computer lab.
Lloyd Ultan, who was inaugurated Bronx Borough Historian on October 26, 1996, is marking the 15th anniversary of entering this government office in his typical manner—by working.

Our membership has voted to request speed humps be installed on King Avenue between Ditmars and Fordham Street on City Island (Bronx, New York, 10464).
It is with this in mind we would like to formally request a traffic study be undertaken of this thoroughfare and the findings and determination be reported to the City Island Civic Association upon its completion.
