New York state has legalized retail cannabis. It is now legal for adults over the age of 21 to use marijuana for recreational purposes; agricultural production, processing, and retail sales are permitted.  The change is reverberating in social life, from the growing number of unlicensed stores and traffic accidents to heightened concern about the possible impact on health.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, it should remind all of us how lucky we are to be citizens of The United States of America.

I am thankful for my continued health, as well as that of my family and loved ones. For friends whom I have kept in touch with over the years as well as newfound ones. For my late parents and ancestors as well as lost friends.

As the political landscape continues to heat up with election, at home during the colder months lower the temperature to around 70.

Saying that we should be monitoring our heating bill and watching the thermostat on our heater is probably a no-brainer. But having it working on most of the day can equal an expensive charge. If you want to stay warm and cozy inside but don't want to be surprised with a big expense, there are a variety of factors to consider.

There was "The Fab Four" but only one of The Beatles never shied away from vocal political protest: Libra leader John Lennon.

Some judged him as bad and those who knew him said he was a lovely person. John said he was who he was and that was his final answer. He was the first to die and the only one to be murdered with a firearm, but yet little has changed.
