It began with Johnny Carson wanting to take time off and NBC TV Network was looking for a weekend rerun replacement.

The World War II vet had a conversational approach with guests, and millions tuned in to watch his show. Between 1965 and 1975, NBC ran reruns of some of Carson’s greatest interviews on the weekend. The star asked to have the shows pulled and used during the week instead so he could take some time off. And thus, Dick Ebersol started developing something to air on Saturday nights.

Hey Abbott... Worried Much?

Governor Abbott had his opportunity to answer for his actions and as expected he fumbled and dropped the Texas political ball.

Their one and only Texas gubernatorial debate ended in a flash, with Abbott and O’Rourke trading political blows in a lightning round-style debate. They addressed abortion, energy, the Texas power grid, immigration, property taxes, and gun control.

Beto ABSOLUTELY HUMILIATED Greg Abbott during a must-see DEBATE that the Texas Governor did not want anyone to see or be there in the audience. But watch for yourself below.

October Surprises

In USA political jargon October Surprises influence the outcomes in November wether deliberately planned, or spontaneously.

For the past few years, Republicans have been deniers about a long list of issues that are coming to bite them back, front, up, down, and every which way it can.

Liars and deniers have a way of being exposed at the end of the day. The truth will become obvious as this month evolves and the winds of time begin to shine.

Are these two Republicans, aka the Turtle and the Weasel, trying to destroy all our rights, dismantling Social Security and Medicare?

The Republicans have issued a 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚: They claim to be fighting for ✓ An economy that's strong ✓ A nation that's safe ✓ A future that's built on freedom ✓ A government that's accountable http://CommitmentToAmerica.com

The National Records of Scotland: Her Majesty The Queen’s died at 3:10 pm on 8/9/22 of “Old Age”

Hurricane Fiona was headed for the Canadian Maritimes as I wrote this, after deluging Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic last Monday.  That same day, an earthquake measuring 7.7 reminded nearly 40 million Mexicans of the experience they had Sept. 19,1985 when thousands were crushed to death in their capital.

These images gathered by my colleagues from The Associated Press show a detailed apocalyptic vision of #MoRonDisaters' Florida.

In six years there have been as many historic hurricanes in the continental United States, all of which intensified quickly before making landfall. Climate change helped fuel them. Yet, Republicans continue to be deniers of science.

The vulnerable seniors living in Florida need a grownup Governor looking to improve their quality of life, not trying to score political points elsewhere.

At the Academy Awards, Network won three of the four acting awards the only other film to achieve that was A Streetcar Named Desire in 1951. Peter Finch died before the 1977 ceremony and was the only performer to win a posthumous Academy Award (until 2009 when Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor). The statuette itself was collected by Finch's widow, Eletha Finch after Chayefsky invited her onstage. Beatrice Straight's performance as Louise Schumacher occupied only five minutes and two seconds of screen time, making it the shortest performance to win an Oscar as of 2022 (breaking Gloria Grahame's nine-minute and 32-second screen time record for The Bad and the Beautiful in 1953).[

The people of totalitarian Russia, and Iran are seeing their own leaders desperately reacting to their self-destructive forces.

Today is #WorldNewsDay. This year, most newsrooms around the globe are coming together to showcase how journalism can and does change many lives, our communities, and the future of our planet.
