Numerous bridge and street closures will be in effect citywide from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, 11/2/14, in support of the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon, including the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. New York has stricter laws to crack down on texting while driving that goes into effect today.
Under the law, new and young drivers convicted of texting-while-driving will have their license suspended for 120 days on the first offense, and revoked for a year if convicted of a second or subsequent offense within six months of re-issuance of the license.

Voters are finally seeing our government in-action as a massive, intrusive, incompetent, wasteful giant. The most alarming consequence of ineffective policies, in addition to unrealized social goals, is the growing threat to the government’s democratic legitimacy.
