Renowned Conductor Enrique Bátiz Award Winning Piano Soloist Irina Chistiakova Lehman Center for the Performing Arts celebrates Valentine’s Day with a performance direct from Mexico City of the ORQUESTA SINFÓNICA del ESTADO de MÉXICO with renowned Conductor and Musical Director Enrique Bátiz and rising-star pianist Irina Chistiakova on Saturday, February 14th, 2015 at 8pm.

The Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico was founded in 1971 at the initiative of Maestro Enrique Bátiz and the Government of the State of Mexico to promote music as a means of union and identification among Mexicans. A cultural gem based in the city of Toluca, the orchestra is a source of pride and joy to Mexican-Americans and Mexiquenses and tours extensively throughout Mexico and the world with concerts that feature a wide range of traditional Mexican and Spanish music as well as classics by Verdi and Beethoven. The program for February 14 will include “Three Spanish Dances” (Enrique Granados), “Noches en los Jardines de España” (Manuel de Falla) and “Symphony No. 1 in C Minor, Op. 68” (Johannes Brahms). Led by acclaimed conductor and musical director Enrique Bátiz, the performance will feature rising star piano soloist Irina Chistiakova.

WINTER BLUES

If you're one of the millions who suffer from anxiety and depression and feeling the winter blues in a major way, the constant extreme-cold temps and gray skies are taking their toll.

It's a feeling of emptiness that makes the bones feel so heavy, and a forklift couldn't get you out of bed. It's a deep sadness that usually comes with something like the loss of a loved one. It's an achy neck and irritable snaps, racing thoughts or no thoughts at all. It's exhausting.

Blizzard Shut Down

A massive blizzard considered the biggest in history is expected to blanket the New York City area with at least 24 inches of snow, according to public safety officials.

NYC Subway, Metro North, LIRR, MTA Bus suspended as of 11PM and NJ Transit suspended as of 8PM tonight, 1/26... States announced the suspension or reduction of public transit, and officials urged people to stay home as heavy snow and high winds descended on the area.

It's Juno in January. This could be the big one and could possibly rank among New York City's biggest snowstorms ever, with forecasters predicting anywhere from 18-24"

NYC officials are preparing approximately 6000 miles streets, which are being plowed in The Big Apple, This represents the distance of going from New York City, NY to Los Angeles, California and back.

WICKED WEATHER ALERT

The entire Northeast region of the US is bracing for a monstrous winter storm, which may trigger massive power outages, slam the brakes on air traffic and rush hour traffic all the way from from Philadelphia deep into the heart of New England. Approximately 30 million people are under a blizzard warning and another 10 million in a winter storm warning.

New York City could see up to 20 inches of snow and parts of New England could see 2 feet or more. High winds could possibly cause dangerous whiteout conditions, and otherwise aggravate the disaster.

Monster Blizzard Warnings

Forecasters are warning that the big one is headed this way. They say the blizzard could be a potentially historic, and may possibly have a crippling effect on the area.

The powerful storm system is getting to pound the Northeast within the next 24 hours with the possibility of up to 30 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Up to 3 feet if snow and the storm will continue Monday night into Tuesday and possibly into early Wednesday. The blizzard may also bring wind gusts of up to 65 miles per hour.

Prepare yourselves for plenty of buck-passing, finger-pointing and name-calling...etc. We continue to learn more about corruption in government, politics, business and just about everywhere we look.

Now, I do not like to appear as The Grim Reaper, but I've got news for all of you. It's definitely not a world of rainbows and unicorns nowadays, and media organizations should be focusing on journalism.
