Rosenthal, Riverside Park Fund President John Herrold, Community Board 7 Chair Emeritus Mel Wymore, community members, and neighborhood children to cut the ribbon on $900,000 in improvements to Neufeld Playground at Riverside Park.

Former Palestinian Authority official Nasser Al-Kidwa will follow up his work as Deputy for Kofi Annan, who is leaving his role in peace facilitation for the Syrian crisis at the end of this month, by serving as Deputy to the new Joint Special Representative of the United Nations and the League of Arab States, a UN spokesman said today.
Mr. Al-Kidwa will begin working with new Joint Representative Lakhdar Brahimi when he takes up his position following the expiration of Mr. Annan’s mandate on 31 August 2012.
NYC Council Members James Vacca and Mark Weprin are introducing a package of bills designed to spur electric vehicle use in New York City. As a zero emissions method of transportation, electric vehicles have potential to dramatically improve air quality across the five boroughs. Though demand for the vehicles has not been as high as anticipated, Vacca and Weprin aim to ease certain regulations to make it easier to own an electric vehicle.
