Federal Communications Commissioners are in favor of advancing a proposal that could dramatically reshape the way consumers experience the Internet. This move opens the possibility of Internet service providers charging Web sites for higher-quality delivery of their content to American consumers.

Although not final, the plan was approved in a three-to-two vote along party lines, could unleash a new economy on the Web where Internet service providers could charge a Web site for faster video streaming. The proposal would prohibit telecom firms from outright blocking Web sites.

A foul mouthed professional basketball team owner who appeared to express contrition for making racist comments, now says he's not going to pay and has no plans of going away.

The National Basketball Association barred Donald Sterling for life, but his attorneys say that Sterling has done nothing wrong and will not pay a league-imposed $2.5 million fine.

Shorter Men Live Longer

University of Hawaii researchers set out to determine the relation between height, FOXO3 genotype and age of death in humans. The initial results indicate that being called shorty is not so bad after all.

Height in mid-life is positively associated with mortality, with shorter stature predicting longer lifespan. Height was, moreover, associated with fasting insulin level and the longevity genotype of FOXO3, consistent with a mechanistic role for the IIS pathway.

Jennifer Lopez will get the Icon Award for her contributions to popular music. This proud Latina Bronxite is the fourth artist to get it and happens to be first woman to receive this special award. Billboard's Music Awards will air live on ABC-TV 7 on May 18.

Just when many thought Sterling had said enough, the foul mouthed team owner has decided to once again speak angrily because he claims Magic has done something wrong.

In a classic foot in mouth, Sterling apologized for his comments in an interview on CNN and said that he was “asking for forgiveness.”
