Mussel Suckers and Clam Diggers agree on one thing, City Island is NYC PARADISE.

Bankers, doctors and teachers who live on the island had to go to work this morning, but we recommend that you stay put, unless it's urgent to travel anywhere

This is the view from inside my place this morning. The next image is the building, where I own a condo unit and as you can see, it is covered with snow. The last image is looking down Fordham street towards City Island Avenue.

Sid Caesar was one of the very first funnymen on TV in the early 1950s and he influenced generations of comedians and comedy writers. Mr. Caesar died on Wednesday at age 91.

He was a master of comedy whether he was working from a script or simply improvising. Here is one of my favorites as a multilingual communicator.

Sid Caesar was the first to poke fun at health food restaurants.

Something fishy is going on with The City Island Bridge Project. Tutor Perini Corporation's longtime media spokesman Jorge Casado has suddenly become extremely unresponsive, while his growing TPC crews continue to trim trees in preparation for their ongoing bridge construction work.

RAISE THAT SHIELD

City Island Images expects the federal shield bill, also known as the Free Flow of Information Act (S. 987), to be brought to the Senate floor very soon. But before it can be brought to the floor, we need to be sure that the bipartisan bill has more than 60 votes in order to overcome any potential filibuster. Therefore, we're asking our thousands of visitors to contact their senators and ask if they support S. 987, as well as to encourage them to vote YES on S. 987.

NO LONGER HOT-TLANTA

The city of Atlanta has become a virtual ghost town as emergency crews battle a vicious ice storm in the state capital of Georgia that had already cut off power for tens of thousands of people across a long arm of the Southeast and left the streets empty and regions covered with ice and snow.

Atlanta residents were just recuperating from another snowstorm two weeks ago after hundreds of people jammed local roads trying to get home at the same time. The ice storm this week prompted Governor Nathan Deal to declare a state of emergency for about 40 Georgia counties.
