RUSSIANS FROM CHECHNYA

One of the the two bombing suspects is now dead and the other is still being tracked down by public safety officials, who says both are believed to have links to the Russian region of Chechnya.

The second suspect has been identified as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev. He is armed and dangerous following an early morning shoot-out. The other suspect, who are believed to be brothers was killed this morning following a gun fight. The brothers have lived in the United States for at least 1 year.

TRACKING DOWN TERRORISTS

One man is dead and another is still at large, while public safety officials are hot on the trail of one bombing suspect. The two led police officers on a deadly chase through Boston suburban neighborhoods early this morning, which ended in the death of one, as well as an MIT campus police officer. These terrorists are believed to be from somewhere in Eastern Europe.

Digital Public Library of America, which launches today aims to provide an alternative to Google for those looking for American cultural information online.

Visitors will be able to view, for example, letters penned by George Washington, a copy of the Declaration of Independence in the handwriting of Thomas Jefferson, and ambrotype and daguerreotype images of Abraham Lincoln.

22 Carnegie Hero Medals Awarded

The Carnegie Hero Fund Commission today named 22 individuals as recipients of the CARNEGIE MEDAL. The medal is given throughout the United States and Canada to those who risk their lives to an extraordinary degree while saving or attempting to save the lives of others. Four of those awarded died in the performance of their heroic acts.

TEXAS EXPLOSION

Emergency crews in West, Texas have been searching through the night for any survivors, or victims of last night's explosion. Estimates are that between five and 15 people have been killed.

Authorities say they are still conducting a search and rescue operation. This morning the scope of the small town's devastation came into fuller view: a huge explosion that is a gruesome, bloody scene, with homes flattened to rubble, and scores of firefighters battling a raging blaze.
