11:59 p.m TONIGHT, THE President will be required to initiate the budget process known as sequestration. As Obama is forced by law to trigger $85 billion in automatic budget cuts, now a bipartisan delegation marches to The White House on this first day of March to negotiate. But all are expected to restate long-held positions, making this of a photo op. In fact, now that sequestration has arrived, the budget gridlock gripping Washington may be about to get worse.

Congressional leaders will begin wishing and praying to keep hope alive, now that time has run out those automatic spending cuts. They are apparently counting on a higher power to help them, so all these so called sequester cuts they previously agreed on can now be avoided.

The US Senate chaplain opens the day with a prayer: "Rise up, O God, and save us from ourselves." Good luck and they will now wake up and finally realize this is one fine mess they've made for US.

Express gratitude. Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what you have — from a roof over your head to good health to people who care about you. When you acknowledge the goodness in your life, you begin to recognize that the source of that goodness lies at least partially outside yourself. In this way, gratitude helps you connect to something larger than your individual experience — whether to other people, nature, or a higher power.

The president and congressional leaders meet today, the day sequester kicks US in the pants. They'll discuss ways to prevent the across-the-board cuts. What took them so long?

The lack of communication between the White House and congressional Republicans signals that any solution to avoid these cuts are not a good bet.

Dangers of Drinking

Alcohol is the number one drug of choice for too many Americans.
Alcohol-related car crashes are the number one killer in the United States.
Alcohol is the number one drug problem in America.

If you think it can't happen to you, look around. Check the stats for the last ten years. How many were related to an individual who was killed in a drunk driving crash?

Ask your friends how many people they know who have had bad things happen to them when they or someone else was drinking.

They called it Bloody Sunday and it brought about the US Voting Rights Act. 48 years later, some says it's no longer necessary. During a first day of arguments for the case, which challenges the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the U.S. Supreme Court indicated it was hostile to one of the law's key provisions.
