11:59 p.m TONIGHT, THE President will be required to initiate the budget process known as sequestration. As Obama is forced by law to trigger $85 billion in automatic budget cuts, now a bipartisan delegation marches to The White House on this first day of March to negotiate. But all are expected to restate long-held positions, making this of a photo op. In fact, now that sequestration has arrived, the budget gridlock gripping Washington may be about to get worse.

NOW WHAT, WASHINGTON?

Congressional leaders will begin wishing and praying to keep hope alive, now that time has run out those automatic spending cuts. They are apparently counting on a higher power to help them, so all these so called sequester cuts they previously agreed on can now be avoided.

The US Senate chaplain opens the day with a prayer: "Rise up, O God, and save us from ourselves." Good luck and they will now wake up and finally realize this is one fine mess they've made for US.

The president and congressional leaders meet today, the day sequester kicks US in the pants. They'll discuss ways to prevent the across-the-board cuts. What took them so long?

The lack of communication between the White House and congressional Republicans signals that any solution to avoid these cuts are not a good bet.

Ask your friends how many people they know who have had bad things happen to them when they or someone else was drinking.

They called it Bloody Sunday and it brought about the US Voting Rights Act. 48 years later, some says it's no longer necessary. During a first day of arguments for the case, which challenges the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the U.S. Supreme Court indicated it was hostile to one of the law's key provisions.

CARRION RUNS FOR NYC MAYOR

A couple of hundred of Adolfo Carrión, Jr. closest friends and political supporters gathered at Bronx Museum tonight as he formally launched his campaign for Mayor of the City of New York, representing the independent party.

Carrion will now compete against whoever the Democrats and Republicans choose for their nominees. Not too long ago, Mr. Carrion switched his party affiliation from Democrat to independent, thus making him the anti Bloomberg.
