In March of 1959, Charles Van Doren was a name that stirred deep emotions in the people of America.

Van Doren was a likeable young man who had made the cover of TIME magazine as the star of something relatively new in American culture — a television quiz show.

Charlie came from a distinguished family. He was the son of Mark Van Doren, a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, and nephew of Carl Van Doren, a great historian. Charles Van Doren himself was an outstanding academic, having studied at the Sorbonne and at Columbia. He became a professor of English.

The second is a crisis of human movement, when hundreds of thousands of refugees are moving and a debate over the means by which to manage them. The third is the world political crisis, in which conventional politics is being challenged by more extreme and intolerant parties.

Pope Francis will address an Easter Mass Sunday offering a traditional "Urbi et Orbi" blessing , and The Pontiff also presides over Easter Vigil at the St Peter's Basilica today..

According to published reports, Garry Emmanuel Shandling died of an apparent heart attack in LA. He was an American comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. He was best known for his work in It's Garry Shandling's Show and The Larry Sanders Show.

Shandling was born on November 29, 1949, Chicago, IL and died: March 24, 2016, Los Angeles, California. He outlived his longtime partner Linda Doucett (1987–1994)

Shandling influenced a series of up and coming as well as established comics: Ricky Gervais, Judd Apatow, Jon Stewart, Louis C.K.
