Political Conditioning

Ivan Petrovich Pavlov was a Russian physiologist who during the 1890s was looking at salivation in dogs in response to being fed when he noticed that his dogs would begin to salivate whenever he entered the room, even when he was not bringing them food.

As we celebrate the birthday of this behavior modification researcher, known for classical conditioning let us take a look at some of the recent actions which have occurred most recently in media manipulation. Pavlov was known for saying -Don't become a mere recorder of facts but try to penetrate the mystery of their origin.

Instead of talking about the plight of American citizens in Puerto Rico, who are suffering following a devastating hurricane over the weekend, POTUS once again changed the narrative and chose to intensify the debate over pro-sports protests to a new level.

A year ago, San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick began exercising his Constitutional rights by taking a knee during the national anthem to protest police shootings of black people. Since then, more players have joined in some kind of protest. However, others have come out against it. Supporters say this is their First Amendment right. Critics say it disrespects the flag and service members. Kaepernick has since opted out of his contract, but no pro team has yet hired him.

What did POTUS say? On Friday, he suggested that any "son of a bitch" who kneels during the anthem should be fired. He tweeted about this all weekend, and instead of talking showing support for those suffering in PR, The US Virgin Islands and other, including the earthquake in Mexico, he recommended a fan boycott. This comes as tensions increase with North Korea, another GOP push to repeal Obamacare, and a Senate candidate Trump's backing in Alabama might lose. So he may have reasons to change the conversation and drum up support from his eroding base.

NBA star Steph Curry said he wanted to reject an invite for his team to go to the White House. On Saturday, Trump said 'fine then' and rescinded the offer. Lots of pro-athletes defended Curry, including LeBron James, who called Trump a "bum." Others say the divisiveness and name-calling don't help.

Where are we now?
Yesterday, dozens of NFL players responded to Trump's comments, many by kneeling or linking arms during the anthem. Both NFL and NBA commissioners, as well as NFL team owners, have also come out against the president on this.

POTUS says his comments have nothing to do with race. However, this harsh criticism of pro-athletes comes on the heels of his failure to take a hard line against white supremacist groups in Virginia, where a demonstrator was killed. Whose modern-day dogs have all of US become? This media manipulator manages to change the narrative to fit him over and over again. The following platform now gives you all the news that's fit to download, but with a necessary political BS filter. http://over.doseofnews.com/
