When in Key West, Florida, travel the 1.25-mile Duval Street, on City Island, A Slice of NYC Paradise, travel along the only 1.5-mile Avenue 

Sip rum drinks, act like Hemingway, and hang out with the roosters, or drink anything you wish or smoke and hang out with Mussel Suckers and Clam Diggers.

City  Island is a neighborhood in the northeastern Bronx in New York City, located on an island of the same name approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long by 0.5 miles (0.80 km) wide.

They are both magical places where anyone can walk from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico in under 30 minutes. Or walk from the Bay to the sound in half the time.

Either way, most visitors take their time,  pass some of the best bars, restaurants, shops, and museums in Key West, Florida, or City Island, NYC, along the way.

One is called City Island Avenue and the other is  Duval Street, and although they’re only a bit over one mile long, these unique locations have earned the unusual nickname of the longest streets in the world. It’s basically the equivalent to New Orleans’ Bourbon Street or Nashville’s Lower Broadway, except with better views and clam diggers or roosters wandering the streets.
