World leaders are demanding a through investigation seeking specific answers following the airliner downed over Ukraine which left 298 dead.

Could this be a midair act of terrorism, or a criminal tragedy that would possibly mark a pivotal moment in the worst crisis between Russia and the West since the Cold War?

The Ukraine is trying to rally international support against Russia, strongly suggesting that this Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 was blown out of the skies by a missile fired by Ukrainian separatists backed by Moscow.

Nominations for the 35th Annual News and Documentary Emmy® Awards have been announced by NATAS National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The News & Documentary Emmy Awards will be presented on Tuesday, September 30th, 2014, at a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, located in the Time Warner Center in New York City.

The event will be attended by more than 1,000 television and news media industry executives, news and documentary producers and journalists. Emmy® Awards will be presented in 43 categories, including the first-ever categories reserved for news & documentary programming in Spanish.

A passenger 777 Boeing airplane from Malaysia Airlines flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur has reportedly crashed in eastern Ukraine, Russia. The plane reportedly went down near the border between Russia and Ukraine.

This Malaysian passenger airliner with 295 people on board crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border.280 passengers and 15 crew members were reportedly on board when the plane went down.

AERIAL SPRAYING

Weather permitting, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will conduct aerial spraying for mosquitoes via a low-flying helicopter to help prevent West Nile Virus.

These will be carried out between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM on 7/17, 7/18, and 7/21 with alternate spray dates of 7/18, 7/21, and 7/22 in the marshlands near the following zip codes in Staten Island, Queens, and The Bronx: 10303, 10306, 10308, 10309, 10311, 10314, 11354, 11356, 11357, 11362, 11363, 10464, 10475, 11691, and 11692.

The National Weather Service earlier issued a Flash Flood Warning for the New York City area and due to a flooding condition, the Cross Bronx Expressway was temporarily closed in both directions at Jerome Avenue in The Bronx. There are two more rounds of rain coming our way before welcoming a clearer day.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall caused flooding of urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
