Oh Zone
Ozone season is here once again, and it presents a health hazard to all New Yorkers. Ground level ozone is a harmful pollutant and the main ingredient of “smog”. It forms on hot, sunny days when pollution reacts with sunlight. Ground level ozone can be especially bad for sensitive groups: children, elderly, and those with heart or lung problems. Plants are also at risk for damage from ozone, both directly and indirectly.
There are several things you can do to help reduce ground-level ozone:
Use public transportation. Ride a bike, a train or a bus.
