We like to call them the grey days of Winter, but it is still Autumn, when the leaves Fall and the skies have not turned gray  just jet.

By the way, did you know that Gray and Grey are both common spellings of the color between black and white. Gray is more frequent in American English, whereas grey is more common in British English.

The weekend started out with rain near the coast but a wintry mix of rain, sleet, snow, and at times freezing rain, for the interior within our forecast region.

Thousands of Bees Make It Out Alive After Being Buried by Volcanic Ash for Nearly A Month Showing They're Beeing Invincible.

These insects with wings are closely related to wasps and ants, known for their role in pollination and, in the case of the best-known bee species, the western honey bee, for producing honey.

Bees are a monophyletic lineage within the superfamily Apoidea. They are presently considered a clade, called Anthophila. There are over 16,000 known species of bees in seven recognized biological families.

Today Is the 21st of September, which means it may be time to listen and delve into the Earth, Wind & Fire classic smash hit.

But do you remember why the band happened to chose the 21st as the date for the song? Many assume it has to do with the seasons changing September 21 is the first day of Autumn. It happens to be the international day of peace. The simple reality is that it rhymes nicely..

Today marks the horrific anniversary when Hurricane Katrina slammed into Waveland, Mississippi, near New Orleans, #USA

The powerful hurricane also hit Louisiana on Aug. 29, 2005, forcing a storm surge that breached a system of levees built to protect the City of New Orleans.

Now watching #hurricane. #Ida’s eye while its rapid intensification continues it is ready for one of the strongest to ever make landfall in #Louisiana.

Blue-Sturgeon Moon

Look up in the sky this Sunday to see if you catch an image of the full moon that will be both a "sturgeon moon" and "blue moon." 
 

The moon will officially become full at 8:02 a.m. ET Sunday, but it will still appear plenty large throughout Saturday as well as Sunday nights. Just look toward the southeast sky after sunset to catch a glimpse of the sturgeon moon rising,

Tropical Depression Fred is forecast to dissipate, according to folks ar the National Weather Service  https://www.weather.gov/

Fred brings heavy rain, possible flash flooding, gusty winds and perhaps a few tornadoes as it tracks north from the upper Ohio Valley into New England Wednesday. Thunderstorms in Arizona and Utah may cause flash floods, especially in slot canyons and arroyos
