Join the Bronx Council of the Arts (BCA) for their kick-off celebration of The Big Read in the Bronx 2012 on Wednesday, April 25, from 6:00-7:00pm, at BCA’s future Westchester Square headquarters at 2700 East Tremont Avenue on the corner of St. Raymond’s Avenue. Bronx HS for the Visual Arts

Tomorrow afternoon @ 4:30 PM, Council Member James Vacca will join Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene, as well as students and faculty from the Bronx High School for the Visual Arts, to cut the ribbon on the school’s recently renovated library and computer lab. Vacca and Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. allocated a combined $340,000 to fund the project, which included new flooring and furniture in the library, upgraded wiring, and new computers for the computer lab.

LIU's new Dean spoke before a packed house of talented visual arts staff and faculty members for the first time this week. Dr. Noel Zahler, a highly respected composer, researcher and administrator, who has led departments, schools of music and interdisciplinary programs at universities across the nation, started his hew job as LIU Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the C.W. Post Campus.
