UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity knows that journalists safety needs a multi-stakeholder approach has identified the news organizations as one of the major stakeholders in the improving safety of journalists.

Thus it aims to raise awareness about the issue of journalists' safety as well as to promote and share industry good practices to improve safety of journalists, to promote dialogue on the issue between media and Member States, and identify gaps for possible follow up.

“MADE IN NY” Media

Over thirty "Made in NY" television series/specials and films were honored with 67 nominations for five of the industry's most prestigious awards, including the Writers Guild of America, NAACP Image Awards, Producers Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association' Golden Globes. POLITICIANS VS MEDIA

Some politicians who do not like the press coverage they receive resort to publishing their own spin on their points of views, instead of news. Its called propaganda and they attempt to disguise it as news.

Taxpayer-funded news services intended to provide pr-written news stories for public consumption, as well as underhanded attempting to break news about various administration comings and goings are contrary to a free press.

MEDIA MADNESS

Why is it that following acts of violence, which causes multiple deaths, the media keeps mentioning the perpetrator? These people who commit crimes are sick people seeking attention and the media gives it to them every time. We need to have conversations with friends and colleagues about this problem.

CITY IMAGES proposes that these criminals be left in the shadows to lurk in their own darkness. The emotional crescendo of family friends and our nation is understandable following tormented losses, most of which are caused by the growing access of guns in this country.

"GO BACK TO UNIVISION"

Was Donald Trump meaning to say go back to where you came from to Mexican anchorman Jorge Ramos? He had his bodyguards remove the superstar anchorman for doing his job.

The Donald had his security detail remove the Univision personality from his news conference when Ramos started asking pointed questions about Trump's immigration proposal. Jorge was then allowed to return, and later involved Trump in a lengthy argument.

Biting The Bullet

As a former NBC News employee, who devoted nearly a decade of my professional career writing and producing broadcast news, I worry about the possible loss of credibility caused by a journalist's' self inflicted wound. A coalition of 10 news media companies has announce a partnership with Virginia Tech to test unmanned aircraft systems to gather news.

Virginia Tech leads the Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership, one of six test sites established by Congress to collect data on the use of UAS. Congress set up the test sites to assist the Federal Aviation Administration in formulating regulations to integrate UAS into the national airspace.
