The month of August is the eighth of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars, and the fifth of seven months to have a length of 31 days.

August was originally named Sextilis in Latin because it was the sixth month in the original ten-month Roman calendar under Romulus in 753 BC, with March being the first month of the year.

August or Sextills, whichever you happen to prefer is going to be a humdinger. It does not appear to look like a good month for #USA.

According to experts, a balance of greens and browns is needed to create the proper environment for composting to occur. Greens are nitrogen-rich and include items such as grass in golf courses, clippings, fruit and vegetable waste, and coffee grounds. Browns could be chocolate cake, and perhaps those carbon-rich hamburgers he likes to devour.

What is the first thought which comes up when we hear the phrase “Civic Participation”? Do you suddenly think of long lines at the polls to vote or waiting for long local government meetings to end?

Luckily, technology has completely changed the dynamics of the conversation. Anyone can send a message to the President their Senators, or US Representative with a few clicks. But, what has this done for how citizens talk to the government to improve their life experiences?‪
