PRIVACY COST$?

The Federal Communications Commission has proposed the first-ever privacy protections governing Broadband Internet Service Providers. This could become one of the biggest wins for online privacy we’ve seen in a long time.

However, the broadband carriers are putting up a fight. Big companies like Verizon and Comcast want the freedom to sell our data to the highest bidder. They are lobbying the FCC hard to weaken new rules so they can continue monitoring our data.

Submitted by ub on

In fact, there are cases where the authorities should be able to access encrypted data, like the California case which developed between Apple and the FBI over the San Bernardino shooting suspect's smartphone messages.

REPUBLICANT?

Submitted by ub on

GRAND OLD PARTY

Submitted by ub on

Seriously? Perhaps it is time to re-brand it, Grand Old Tardy. Consider a makeover for the Republican Party of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by socialist minister Francis Bellamy 1855-1931. This was published in The Youth's Companion on September 8, 1892. Bellamy had hoped that the pledge would be used by citizens in many countries.
