HAPPY ALWAYS

Submitted by ub on

Don't worry, be happy... CITY IMAGES is delighted to join in the celebration of this year’s International Day of Happiness. But, to be honest, the real focus should be on the other 364 days of the year.

The gay spirit is within all of us, and by celebrating and strengthening it, we find peace, tolerance, and respect. We can work together to create an environment where people can truly flourish and fulfill their human potential.

We can all be part of a community brought together by the desire to share the quality of happiness.

Over, under and out?

New York City appears to be crumbling right from under our feet, according to some. Many are expressing their disappointment with the subway system, while others are increasingly concerned with the level of violence underground and on the streets.

I have lived and worked in NYC for decades and the situation appears to be getting more serious by the day, and night. The only way the situation is going to improve is wehn New Yorke residents realize its up to US.

Diversity's Failure

To my former colleagues in broadcast news:

This is, arguably, the biggest political story since at least 1968: the potential presidential candidacy, on a major Party ticket, of an open racist.

This article postulates that we need more journalists of color to call Trump out.
We also need more white journos to stop dealing in false equivalence, and point out the naked racist fear and white nationalism propelling Trump.

Seasonable Weather Madness

Severe thunderstorms are possible today over portions of the southern United States. Colder weather is expected across much of the central and eastern United States by the end of the week, with high temperatures near or slightly below normal for this time of year. WHAT?

A double-whammy cold front from Canada will bring the mercury into the low 30s tomorrow night, with some of the coldest weather of the month and possibly a snowstorm just in time for the start of spring.

Classroom Guns

Parents, students and teachers, start worrying about guns inside the classroom because they’re already there.
Teaching fire arms safety may be the only issue people on both sides of the gun control debate can agree on.

Some have suggested bringing guns to class would suppress free speech and academic freedom because people may be hesitant to address controversial subjects for fear of someone using their weapon in an emotional moment.

What is orange, full of hot air and will eventually be deflated by the majority of intelligent American citizens?

The Donald's family changed the surname from "Drumpf" to "Trump," but their timing is not clear.

Crumbling Infrastructure

Over $3 Billion dollars are needed to upgrade America’s fractured infrastructure. Lead pipes are poisoning our children, railways, highways and bridges are broken down and need emergency repairs.

With a grading system depicts the condition and performance of the nation’s infrastructure in the familiar form of a school report card by assigning letter grades based on the physical condition and needed investments for improvement.

HOPE FOR TODAY

Today is do or die day for Marco Rubio, John Kasich and Bernie Sanders, who are fighting to keep their White House hopes alive.

Many are voting strategically this time in hopes of altering the outcome of the presidential race by voting for someone other than their favorite candidate in the primaries. Does this sound confusing? Check back in a few hours and lets try this again.

Most states have awarded delegates on a proportional basis so far. But that changes in an effort to help a front-runner and hinder those falling behind.
