INTERNET: GOP PLATFORM

If there was ever one thing that Republicans and Democrats have in common, it's that they can be split on issues within their respective parties. And that would be the case for both parties when it come to Intellectual Property and Privacy on the Internet. If you get onto the GOP website and read their Party Platforms, you will find two sections that are centered on the internet. The first section, labeled "Protecting Internet Freedom", is a paragraph at is quite vague. They talk about how the internet has helped fuel new innovation more than any other technological advancement.

The Greatest Waste of Time

Last night I spent close to 3 hours doing something I love, but what most parents (at least parents of my generation) classify as an epic waste of time and just don't understand it. Even some of my close friends don't even get it or think of it again as a waste of time. But then again there are a bunch of us that fight, nag, rage, tease, troll, and generally enjoy the "sport that isn't a sport" of fantasy sports.

Moods, like colors, have a range of hues, from the bright shades of happiness to the dark ones of depression. A mood problem that’s down in the dark range, but doesn’t quite reach the level of depression, is dysthymia (dis-THIGH-me-ah). It refers to a long-term drone of low-grade depression that lasts for at least two years in adults or one year in children and teens. While not necessarily as crippling as major depression, its persistent hold can keep you from feeling good and interfere with your work, school, family, and social life.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has arrived in Iran and has just finished a series of meetings with Iranian officials, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Soon after arriving in Tehran, the UN chief attended a working lunch at the Parliament building with the Speaker, Ali Larijani, and other officials, and later had meetings with President Ahmadinejad, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has left New York and is on his way to Iran to attend the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

“The Secretary-General looks forward to the Summit as an opportunity to work with the participating Heads of State and Government, including the host country, towards solutions on issues that are central to the global agenda, including follow-up to the Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development, disarmament, conflict prevention, and support for countries in transition,” the spokesperson told a news briefing at UN Headquarters in New York.
