He is the first Democratic mayor of America's largest city in a generation, and gave his report card speech at Cooper Union, the location where Abraham Lincoln announced his presidential campaign in 1860.

22 were stabbed during a high school rampage near Pittsburgh today. The stabbings occurred outside Franklin Regional High School injuring 22 in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.

The existing marijuana laws on the books in Colorado and in Washington state may evolve into an $8 billion business by the year 2018., according to Marijuana Business Daily, which predicts half of the retail sales will represent recreational use and the other half will for medical use.
This forecast is five-times the increase over figures previously projected. These estimates are based on a US Justice Department hands-off approach, in states where legal use of marijuana is available for recreational, or through medical prescriptions.
CODENOMICON, is a Finnish security firm that discovered a dangerous cyber bug and warns that a security flaw in Heartblleed one of the most serious uncovered in recent years, exposing millions of usernames.
The Heartbleed Bug is a serious vulnerability in the popular OpenSSL cryptographic software library. This weakness allows stealing the information protected, under normal conditions, by the SSL/TLS encryption used to secure the Internet. SSL/TLS provides communication security and privacy over the Internet for applications such as web, email, instant messaging (IM) and some virtual private networks (VPNs).
The Heartbleed bug allows anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by the vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL software. This compromises the secret keys used to identify the service providers and to encrypt the traffic, the names and passwords of the users and the actual content. This allows attackers to eavesdrop on communications, steal data directly from the services and users and to impersonate services and users.

Cuomo successfully hosted the second New York State Wine, Beer, Spirits and Cider Summit, where he announced that he's launching a $6 million marketing and promotional commitment to raise the profile of New York’s beverage producers, a dramatic increase from the campaign launched at the first summit in 2012.
