President Obama’s support continues to erode nationally, according to the latest poll. This is in addition to those City Islander we contacted ranging from 95 to 59 years old. Also, a yearlong effort to recapture the political center has failed to attract independent voters

Nearly half of people polled say they feared the economy was heading for a double-dip recession, and nearly three-quarters of Americans think the country is on the wrong track.

Just in case you were wondering about the spike in activity and parked vehicles near the circle as you are approaching The City Island Bridge, it turns out that over a dozen NYC Council members were there after they accepted NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly's invitation to visit the Rodman's Neck firing range.

She's not a native New Yorker, but she apparently wants to be one - Willow the cat goes missing in Colorado, turns up in Manhattan five years later. This very independent cat was even the talk of the town, so even the Mayor had to get into the act.

This cat ran away on what seems to have been a truly and incredible American travel tour and a journey eastbound: Go east young cat... This way cool cat turned up a staggering 1,800 miles away from home.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. today hosted the borough’s 10th anniversary commemoration of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2011, honoring the 144 Bronx residents who died in that tragedy.

The photo shows Borough President Diaz as he addresses the gathered crowd. Highbridge Voices, a Bronx youth choir performed three songs at the event, sitting behind Diaz.
