This summer, from June 1st through June 16th, the Sing for Hope Pianos return to our city streets. In one of New York City’s most vibrant public art installations, 88 artist-designed pianos (one for each key on a piano) are placed in parks and public spaces throughout the five boroughs for anyone and everyone to enjoy. Pelham Bay Park is fortunate to host two pianos – one in the formal gardens at Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum and one in front of the Main Pavilion of Orchard Beach.

We will likely finish May period with near normal temperatures, and as it turns out normal weather can be very nice. To those individuals who detest the quick jump from winter to summer, congratulations because you have finally been rewarded by mother nature this year.

We need to show more sympathy for these people.
*
They travel miles in the heat.
*
They risk their lives crossing a border.
*
They don't get paid enough wages.
*
They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do.
*
Live in crowded conditions among a people who speak other languages.
*
They rarely see their families, and face adversity all day every day.
*
We're paying tribute to US troops and veterans!
