The Lincoln Arts Exchange - TALENT FOR HEALTH CARE

The Bronx Council on the Arts is proud to be a partnering organization with Lincoln Hospital in the launching of the Lincoln Art Exchange Program, an artist-specific healthcare program at Lincoln Hospital offering a unique option for eligible NYC-based artists who do not have health insurance to exchange their creative services for comprehensive healthcare. Bronx HS for the Visual Arts

Tomorrow afternoon @ 4:30 PM, Council Member James Vacca will join Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene, as well as students and faculty from the Bronx High School for the Visual Arts, to cut the ribbon on the school’s recently renovated library and computer lab. Vacca and Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. allocated a combined $340,000 to fund the project, which included new flooring and furniture in the library, upgraded wiring, and new computers for the computer lab.

LIU's new Dean spoke before a packed house of talented visual arts staff and faculty members for the first time this week. Dr. Noel Zahler, a highly respected composer, researcher and administrator, who has led departments, schools of music and interdisciplinary programs at universities across the nation, started his hew job as LIU Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the C.W. Post Campus.

Bronx Native American Festival will be celebrated this Sunday from 12 noon - 4:00 PM in the meadow near the dog run. Join us on 9/25 for storytelling, Native food, dance & music, artists and lots of fun. The Silvercloud drum group and flutist & storyteller Tchin will be back by popular demand.

This Saturday and Sunday turned out to be a fine weekend for City Island's Annual Fall Arts & Crafts Fair.

A few dozen artists and craftspeople offered face-painting, photography, jewelry, stained glass, arts and crafts, bath & body products, clothing, trophies, live music and fresh food. Visitors young and old enjoyed the festival.

Located along City Island Avenue from Bay Street to Schofield Street. the fair was sponsored by The City Island Chamber of Commerce, supporting small business for over 100 years. 718-885-9100 -

City Island Arts & Crafts Fair

The City Island Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring another Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday and Sunday - September 10 and 11th. The even includes Folk Art, Live Music, Foods, Candle Makers,
Handmade Jewelry, Photography, Face Painting and many other attractions.

City Island enjoys the best of both worlds: CI is an urban location with the feel of a rustic fishing village. CI is known for its Yacht Clubs, seafood restaurants, antique shops and local historic sites.
