NYC Largest Park

It's Pelham Bay Park, which is located in the northeast corner of The Bronx, is the largest public park in New York City, more than three times the size of Central Park. It includes land on both sides of the Hutchinson River and all of Hunter Island in Long Island Sound (now also part of the mainland).

On its north is the village of Pelham Manor in Westchester County. The park borders the Bronx neighborhoods of Pelham Bay, and Co-op City. The southern part of Rodman's Neck is not part of the park but is occupied by the NYPD gun and rifle Firing Range.

City Island, NY

City Island is about 1.5 mile long by .5 mile wide. Once attached to the town of Pelham, in Westchester County, it is now part of the New York City Borough of The Bronx. Its land area is .395 sq mi, or 252 acres. The island belongs to Bronx Community Board 10.

City Island is at the extreme western end of Long Island Sound, south of Pelham Bay and east of Eastchester Bay. The body of water between City Island and Hart Island to the east is known as City Island Harbor.

Bronx Courthouse

The Beaux-Arts building is located on the Grand Concourse and East 158th street. It was built in 1933 by architects M Hausel and J Freedlander.

The structure was erected when the Bronx was a borough, but not yet a county. The Bronx only attained county status in 1914 and until then, it was a part of New York County, which since 1914 has been made up of the Borough of Manhattan.

Hall of Justice

The Bronx Hall Of Justice is on 161st street and Morris Avenue. This glass building is where judicial transparency is not only a metaphor but also literally and figuratively. More than forty courtrooms, seven lucky grand jury rooms, NYC Department of Corrections, NYC Department of Probation, and Bronx District Attorney's office.
This is one of the largest courthouses in USA.

NYC Parks To Offer Free Wi-Fi

AT&T is launching 26 new Wi-Fi hot spots in 20 NYC parks in all five boroughs, including the Joyce Kilmer Park in the Bronx. AT&T says that the hot spots are free to use for AT&T customers and non-customers alike. They say this is done without any charge to New York taxpayers.

PENTAGON PAPERS DECLASSIFIED

On 6/13/1971 The New York Times began publishing the "Pentagon Papers," a top-secret Defense Department study on the United States political and military involvement in Vietnam from 1945 through 1967. On the 40th anniversary, this Monday, June 13th, our government will mark the study declassified and release it to the public.

On Saturday, June 11 at 6:00pm ET, tune in to C-SPAN Radio to hear the landmark 1971 Supreme Court Oral Argument as the Nixon Administration attempted to prevent the New York Times and Washington Post from publishing the Pentagon Papers.

On Sunday, June 12 at 5:20pm ET, tune in to American History TV on C-SPAN 3 to view a panel discussion from 2006, marking the 35th anniversary of when the New York Times first published the story. Panelists included Daniel Ellsberg who first leaked the study to the New York Times.

Dow Closes Below 12,000 for the First Time Since March

The Dow Jones industrial average closed under the 12,000-point mark on Friday. This is the first time since March 18, 2011.

Analysts attribute this decline to a general sense that the global economy is slowing and to fresh reminders that European debt problems are entrenched.

With US born Hispanics now outnumbering foreign born Hispanics, the voices of proponents of using English are growing louder. Figure out the language preference of your target audience and use that language, be it English or Spanish.

When it comes to the Hispanic online market, most studies indicate that half of the 31 million Hispanics online prefer English while the other half prefers Spanish or are bilingual.

Man Shot with BB Gun Near Brox Zoo

A NY man was struck by a BB pellet which nearly missed his toddler son while they were outside the Bronx Zoo's Asia Gate. He warns others not to park there after this expeience.

Joshua Muldavin, 50, parked the family car on Bronx Park South near Daly Avenue and stepped out for air while his wife, Monica Varnsanyi, 39, waited in the car with their napping 19-month-old, Luke. This was their third visit to the Bronx Zoo, and they had parked on the same street once before.

City Island Cools Off
