There are several beaches either closed or under advisory over a high count of bacteria in the water due to recent stormwater runoff from all the rain in the area this week.

GULF OF MEXICO

The National Hurricane Center issued the warning on Wednesday. Concerning the Gulf of Mexico region. "Air Force Reconnaissance Plane Finds Erick Now a Category 2 Hurricane. Expected to Bring Damaging Winds and Life-Threatening Flash Floods to Portions of Southern Mexico Late Tonight and Thursday," the alert stated.

The Gulf is bordered by the United States to the north (Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas), six Mexican states to the west (Quintana R o d , Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan), and the island of Cuba to the southeast.
