HEALTH & WELLNESS SUMMIT

Bronx Borough President is urging concerned individuals from the Bronx and across the City to register for his upcoming Health & Wellness Summit, to be held at Fordham University’s Rose Hill Campus on Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“We see this event as a major first step towards a comprehensive health and wellness agenda for not just the Bronx but the entire City, and I urge everyone with an interest in these important topics to sign up for a day of thought-provoking discussion on the health of our City,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

Social networks are more focused on creation and sharing content than in finding it. They also tend to highlight Web-centric communities. The debate over the Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP (Intellectual Property) Act also made this year's list, as Twitter was an important center of that debate.

Academic administrators need to fine tune goals and values. It's too easy to say: In our institution, every student learns, or we raise our students to their full potential, without explaining what this actually means, how we reach these goals, achieve wisdom, knowledge, satisfaction and retention.

ELECTRONIC MEDIA

The first radio transmission was successfully sent on Christmas Eve in 1906. Reginald Fessenden and his team broadcasted a Christmas concert to the united Fruit Company in the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea; this caused Fessenden to be radio’s first voice. This broadcast foreshadowed the future of radio. Lee DeForest, Edwin Armstrong, Guglielmo Marconi, Nikola Tesla, David Sarnoff, and Fessenden were all considered to be the fathers of radio and radio as we know it now would not be the same without these men and many others.
