CHIC COREA WAS A KEYBOARDIST OF OUR GENERATION - I’ve been devastated by the passing of Chick Corea. I think of him in the same way the generation before me thought of Duke Ellington or Count Basie, Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Barry Harris, Sun Ra, I could go on, knowing there are many other keyboardists and pianist-band leaders who stood out in previous generations and became the Jazz standard-bearers of their generation.
Our Favorite Christmas Song of Praise - Cantique de Noël, O Holy Night is a well-known Christmas carol composed in 1847 to the French poem Minuit, chrétiens Midnight, Christians by poet Placide Cappeau (1808–1877) The carol reflects on the birth of Jesus as humanity's redemption. O Holy Night was created by French opera composer Adolphe Adam, who also wrote the ballet, Giselle. More about that below.
With Christmas upon us, tracking Santa, and holiday songs are popular. And while we are as big a fan of the holidays as anyone, we must admit: not all Christmas carols are created equal. Some are just as likely to remind us why we love these holidays.
