Great Caesar’s Ghost

Submitted by ub on

Great Caesar’s Ghost was a phrase the fictional editor-in-chief of the Metropolis newspaper the Daily Planet said when he was shocked. Newsman Clark Kent, aka Superman, worked for Mr. White, who always maintained high ethical and journalistic standards as an archetypal image of a tough, irascible but fair-minded boss.

However, this time Superman may not be able to help and this is not fiction, folks we may have problems with climate change and you should consider the following as a warning of super proportions.

The World Health Organization has proposed rescheduling cannabis within international law to take account of the growing evidence for medical applications of the drug, reversing its position held for the past 60 years that cannabis should not be used in legitimate medical practice.

The WHO Expert Committee on Drug Dependence met to critically review available evidence on cannabis and related substances and to agree the most appropriate level of international control. https://www.who.int/

Lawless POTUS?

Submitted by ub on

President Trump has never had more than 50 percent approval rating and was not elected by a majority of votes cast, but that has not stopped him from declaring an apparently unconstitutional national emergency and further dividing and polarizing this great nation.

The courts will determine if he is violating the Constitution, negating our system of government based on the rule of law and refusing his core responsibility to protect our American democracy.

Look up in the sky, its a bird, its a plane, not its Supermoon. You may call it super, snow or full, the biggest, brightest moon of the year is finally here.

This is a lunar spectacle not to be missed. The biggest and brightest moon of 2019 is coming to the sky near you and it's worth stepping outside to view and a highly anticipated astrological occasion.

A Supermoon occurs when the moon is as close as it ever gets to Earth. Tonight, won't be just any night, our moon will only be about 221,000 miles from Earth, which is about 17,000 miles closer than the average moon.

On this and every other #PresidentsDay, #USA honors the Commanders who have followed the Constitution and held our nation’s highest office. New York has teamed up with 15 other states and filed an explosive lawsuit against POTUS national emergency declaration, marking the strongest show of legal force yet against the dubious attempt to bankroll his border wall.

Retribution?

Submitted by ub on

Retribution is an act or punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act. A punishment, penalty, nemesis, fate, doom, one's just deserts, due reward, just reward, wages.

Trump accuses others of plotting treason, but who is the real offender of treason against #USA?

First, when was the last time you heard the word retribution be used by or come out of this president’s mouth?

Unfortunately, I have had friends and neighbors die as a result of alcoholism and some folks don't ever seem to get the message.

More than 2.5 Million are killed each year abusing alcohol. The World Health Organization keeps calling for action to reduce the harmful use of alcohol, which kills 2.5 million people every year.

Was it was a racy TITle for 1935? I'm told most American folks highly approved of this famous comedy team. As you will see, their fans are also living overseas.

This double act soared during the early Classical Hollywood era of American cinema. The team was composed of thin Englishman Stan Laurel and heavyset American Oliver Hardy. http://www.laurel-and-hardy.com/ #entertainment http://entertainment.doseofnews.com/

I was driving along Ventura Boulevard near Studio City, when I noticed an odd shared three wheeled vehicle parked at a dealership, so I stopped in to ask questions.

They said it is answer to a Tesla on three wheels. If you're a real loner, check out this $15K electric cruising vehicle for one.

A Decomposing Democracy

Submitted by ub on

Democracy means rule by the people, but what general forms does it take? Participatory democracies, pluralist democracies, and elite democracies. Now, think about some of their benefits and negative aspects. When we don't have the real rule of the people, we don't have a democracy.

Proposed changes in the US Census, our voting rights are under attack with new voter suppression tactics, The Electoral College ramifications, along with the disproportionate power held by Senators from smaller states appears to be a growing problem for democracy in The United States of America.
