This is not fake news, nor is it fake boos. The Baseball championship game of the World Series was going well until an announcement was made over the intercom that POTUS was there, Although this is sad that Americans are reacting this way in public, it speaks volumes about the state of our political discourse.

Just before the fourth inning started, the video screens carried a salute to our military service members that drew loud cheers throughout the stadium. When the video cut and they announced the Trumps were there, a torrent of boos and heckling.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is the President and undisputed dictator of Russia since 2012, and his relationship with Trump is epic.

Did anyone notice that Trump’s acknowledgment of Russian cooperation with the U.S. special operations mission that left Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi dead is worrisome? Before thanking “the great intelligence professionals who helped make this very successful journey possible” and the soldiers and sailors, airmen and Marines involved in the operation, Trump expressed gratitude to Russia and then repeated it several times.

It took plenty of effort from the time Ron Terner and I first discussed the idea of a FREE City Island Film Festival, but the time has come.

I’m an EduCat. When I was a youngster, I became conscious of issues of equity, and the severe lack of diversity in American education.

My family emigrated from Cuba a country that was torn apart by Communism and war caused by government corruption and inequities.

Being Latino and studying English in the American public educational system in different states allowed me to experience how equity impacts students. With our family’s moves, I went from attending a school that was predominantly students of color, to a school with mostly White, to high school which was White.

Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, and by people of Hispanic ancestry living in other places, especially the United States. It is acknowledged internationally in many Latin American nations.

The Day of the Dead is all about celebrating deceased loved ones so dressing up is probably a good idea because your beloved departed loved ones are there with you in spirit. We all have to look nice.
