Sleep deprivation. Over time, inadequate or poor quality sleep can increase the risk for a number of chronic health problems, including heart disease. Studies have linked short-term sleep deprivation with several well-known contributors to heart disease, including high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood pressure.

Sleep apnea. This common cause of loud, disruptive snoring makes people temporarily stop breathing many times during the night. Up to 83% of people with heart disease also have sleep apnea, according to some estimates.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS BENEFITS?

Daylight Saving Time in 2013 ended in most of the United States at 2 a.m. Nov. 3.

Folks will be setting their clock back one hour, following the adage of “spring forward, fall back.”

The “extra” hour gives you a chance to catch up on the sleep you lost in March when the clocks moved forward and Daylight Saving Time began.

There is no scientific reason to endure this national time shift of losing and gaining hours.

Three time Mike was elected NYC Mayor and has continued in office during an extremely long 12 year period. Some New York voters can't wait for election day and for a successor's assumption of office.

Lame Ducks tend to have little political power because others are less inclined to cooperate with them. But remember that lame ducks are not facing the consequences of their future actions, giving them greater freedom to issue unpopular decisions or appointments.
