NYC public utility company, Con Edison is requesting that all customers conserve electricity by turning off equipment not being used, keeping air conditioners at 78-degrees, and running washers, dryers and dishwashers only at night. According to officials, "The Baked Apple" heatwave is expected to end in a few days.

It's the Metropolitan Museum of Art and it's on a roll. Having raised the standards for design exhibitions to a stunning new high with “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty,” which has been extended through August 7, the New York institution has announced that 5.68 million people visited the Met during the fiscal year that ended on June 30.

$12.85 Million for Bronx Projects

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. has announced that his office has allocated $12.85 million in funding for projects across the Bronx as part of his FY2012 budget requests. This will help move projects forward in The Bronx, contributing to new technology in schools, new housing opportunities and a greener borough.

But never on Sundays and soon Saturday too. USPS has announced an $8 Billion shortfall and is seriously considering it's options, which include the elimination of Saturday deliveries. It's taking a licking and may soon slow down ticking.

The length of time it takes for a letter to arrive, not to mention the price tag, has reduced profitability, as email and social networking sites become more dominant in our popular culture.

And with fewer items of postage to mail, stamp enthusiasts will have even more to collect.
