The 30th President of The United States served over twice as many months. In fact, in the 67 months he actually served, Calvin Coolidge managed to successfully cut the federal budget.

At 2:30 on the morning of August 3, 1923, while visiting in Vermont, Calvin Coolidge received word that he was President. By the light of a kerosene lamp, his father, who was a notary public, administered the oath of office as Coolidge placed his hand on the family Bible.

Jonathan Winters passed away of natural causes at his Montecito, California home at 6:45 p.m. PDT on April 11, 2013, surrounded by family and friends, according to his Website.

Jonathan Harshman Winters III. American funnyman, an actor, and artist.

CHAMBER LUNCHEON

Please join The City Island Chamber of Commerce at Portofino's Restaurant at 555 City Island Avenue on Tuesday April 16th from 12pm-2pm.

Marlene Cintrone from Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation will speak and field your questions as to how to best take advantage of grants and low interest loans for small business and commercial property owners on City Island.

Former Bronx Borough and Mayoral Candidate Adolfo Carrion is also scheduled to speak.

This is an important meeting the chamber hopes more will, as there is strength in numbers.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Lately, I have found that I go on Facebook a lot and perhaps a bit too much. Like many others who enjoy posting photos, ideas or suggestions. I even find myself reading most of the comments from my witty friends and members of my my loving family, but if a particular photo, or post doesn't get much attention... I usually don't think much about it.

My kids and many family members are also very familiar with Facebook and when posts are made, for the next few hours it is difficult to not be curious about how many "likes" these posts are getting.
