The Metropolitan Transit Authority(MTA) Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will operate full morning and evening rush hour service beginning Monday, December 10, as a result of Amtrak restoring the signal system capacity in one of its two flood-damaged East River tunnels. This will mark the first full service rush hour for the LIRR since Hurricane Sandy hit six weeks ago. The LIRR's off-peak service continues to operate on a regular schedule throughout the LIRR system.
Salt is essential to the body. Sodium chloride helps transmit nerve impulses and contract muscle fibers. Working with potassium, it balances fluid levels in in the body. But you only need a tiny amount of salt to do this, less than one-tenth of a teaspoon. The average American gets nearly 20 times that much.

The New York City Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Department of Sanitation, today announced that Alternate Side Parking (ASP) regulations are reinstated, effective Monday, Dec. 10, in Brooklyn Community Boards 15 and 18 (see attached maps).
