Jack Hopkins can no longer claim he's 59+ The big 60 is here. And as usual, Jack likes to hold up the back. Here he is celebrating with his two gorgeous gals. Invited to the birthday bash were a diverse group of friends from all over the world. Many traveled from far away just to wish jumping Jack a happy birthday. The cast included neighbors and old friends from his radical school days. There was singing and playing at his country home, located in a cul de sac, not far from the Delaware Water Gap.
With at least four aftershocks being registered, following yesterday's 5.8 eathquake that shook the east coast, some New Yorkers are understandably shaken, to say the least. According to USGS officials, there may be more to come. They say typically, the greater the tremor, the greater and longer extent of future aftershocks.
Finally, this is certainly not the time to let our guards down. In case you have not heard yet, Hurricane IRENE may be heading our way. So this is the time to plan ahead just in case Hurricane winds come to US.

Yesterday a 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred on the east coast of the U.S. The earthquake was felt from southern Virginia all the way to Canada and did not miss the NY Metropolitan area.
For her 101 birthday, a portion near Pelham Parkway in Bronx is renamed Mother Teresa Way.
The special sign is at the corner of Lydig avenue and Holland avenue honors Mother Teresa's massive missionary work on behalf of the poor, sick and orphaned.

In 1999, Qaddafi escaped judgment by turning over two underlings to pay for his criminal murder of 270 innocent people eleven years earlier in 1988.
In 1988 Qaddafi murdered all 243 passengers and 16 crew members on Pan Am Flight 103, which he had bombed. In addition he killed Eleven people in Lockerbie, Scotland, who died as large sections of the plane fell on the town and destroyed several houses.
It would have been nice if NATO had taken Qaddafi out back in 1988, or even in 1999.
Since at least 1774, people in central Virginia have felt small earthquakes and suffered some damage from infrequent larger ones. The largest damaging earthquake magnitude 4.8 in the seismic zone occurred in 1875. Smaller earthquakes that cause little or no damage are felt each year or two.
US Representative Eric Cantor has been pushing for budget cuts to USGS, NOAA.
