In a hero’s journey, women have been delegated to the background, Heroine Daisy Veerasingham will change the face of The AP

Like myself, Daisy is also an immigrant, my friend, and a former colleague. Ms. Veerasingham came to The AP from #LexisNexis in 2004 as sales director for AP Television News in London. I was then serving as APTN New York Bureau Chief. Ms. Daisy began driving content licensing and marketing in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia, leading the company’s expansion efforts.

A potentially serious and extremely large-scale earthquake has slammed the State of Alaska so large #USA hasn’t seen recently.

The M8.2 Alaska quake is on the subduction zone interface. What this means is that the seafloor under the Pacific Ocean is being pushed under the Alaskan peninsula. It also means it generated a tsunami and this is a potentially dangerous development.

The opening ceremony inside eerily empty stadium seats. Let the weirdness begin. The first reviews of the fan-less Olympics are in, and after watching The Parade of Nations on television we can say this event may be somewhat underwhelming.

But as they say, the show must go on. This term is used to say that an event must continue even though there are problems, and boy there sure is, the elephant in the stadium... The global pandemic.

POTUS wraps up his first trip abroad since taking office, an eight-day mission to rebuild trans-Atlantic ties with NATO after they were strained during the past years and to reframe relations with WAPS Warsaw Pact nations. Experience and intelligence matter more than buffoonery.

Following the last meeting, Russia’s dictator emerged from the Helsinki summit smirking like the cat that swallowed the canary. There was no such grin this time. Vlad was subdued and far from triumphant. He tried attacking the USA but not Biden.

There is a new Sheriff in town and his name is POTUS. This one is much different than the last one who bowed to Putin. President Joe Biden has announced from The Whitehouse that he has leveled an array of sanctions against the Russian government for placing bounties on USA troops, its attempted interference in the 2020 American presidential election, occupation of the Crimea, and other malign activities by the Communists.
