Save the Putnam Trail

The NYC Parks Dept blatantly lied to the community regarding its plans for the Putnam Trail project in the Bronx. It makes those who stand by and allow these lies to continue complicit in the lies.

The NYC Parks Dept told the community that:

1. A stone dust Putnam Trail would NOT be wheelchair accessible or meet the requirements of the American with Disabilities Act.
This statement is completely false. A stone dust trail totally adheres to ADA guidelines and is wheelchair accessible

All concerts are free and open to the public and air on “Good Morning America” Fridays between 7 and 9 a.m. The park opens at 6 a.m., with the 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue the closest option to Rumsey Playfield.

Severe Weather Warnings

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has expanded the Moderate Risk for severe weather slightly south. The main threat will be from widespread, damaging winds. The is also a chance for tornadoes from Northeast Pennsylvania into Southern New England.

Severe thunderstorms expected to batter much of the northeastern U.S., including New York. These dangerous weather risks includes thunderstorms, hail and possibly tornadoes across an area that stretches from Indiana all the way to New England.

While addressing members of the National Urban League last night, President Barack Obama spoke about gun violence for the first time since the deadly shooting in Aurora, Colo.

GOP candidate Mitt Romney has also weighed in on this issue, as well as the Mayor of New York City, and many more are soon expected to follow.

Most everyone agrees that more actions need to be taken to keep dangerous assault weapons from criminals with lengthy rap sheets as well as the mentally unstable. But Congress continues it's opposition to deal with this politically charged issue of gun control.

UN SENDING HALF OF OBSERVER FORCE HOME

The United Nations peacekeeping chief has announced that half of the 300 UN observers in Syria have left the country, while adding that the crisis there remains “of utmost concern” and the world body will continue to promote a political solution.

“We will try to work towards contributing to a political solution which would help alleviate all the suffering,” the Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Hervé Ladsous, told a press conference in Damascus.

TROUBLED TWITTER FLIGHT

After unveiling their brand new bird in flight logo last month, Twitter crashed in flight and abruptly landed back on earth this Thursday and stalling a possibility of 140 million users.

The site goes up and down for portions of the day as users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter.

Engineers are currently working to resolve the issue, which is apparently on-going and they are working to resolve it.
