With as many as two million people affected by the ongoing conflict in Syria, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today renewed his call on all parties to put an end to armed violence and prevent further bloodshed.

“More fighting is not the answer. Further militarization of this conflict will only perpetuate the devastation and prolong the suffering. A sectarian civil war would also gravely imperil Syria’s neighbors,” Mr. Ban told reporters at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

On Friday 7/27 NYPD executed a search warrant at 480 Minneford Ave. for Drug Sales.

Also on Friday they conducted a motorcycle checkpoint at the bridge and confiscated eight (8) motorcycles and arrested three (3) individuals. Two of the individuals who were arrested fled the checkpoint and were apprehended after a search in the vicinity of King St. and Terrace St.

For July there have been a total of 10 arrests on City Island:

Reckless Endangerment -- 2
DWI --1
Criminal Mischief -- 1
Violate Order of Protection -- 1
Criminal Possession of a Weapon --1
