Ms. Wye will trace its beginnings in the 1930s as part of the vision of Parks Commissioner Robert Moses and Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia for a recreational complex along the shore in Pelham Bay Park. She will also explore the pavilion's current state and possible plans for its future use.

New Rochelle, NY officials were shocked to learn that Lou Gehrig street sign was taken by vandals. City Island Images noticed the sign was missing and immediately contacted the proper authorities.

New Rochelle Mayor, Noam Bramson assures cimages.me the street sign will be immediately replaced. He adds that the city has not rescinded the designation of Meadow Lane to be named after NY Yankee Great, Lou Gehrig, so he assumes the sign was taken down by vandalls.

Submitted by ub on

According to recorded history, back on February 14, on or about the year 278 A.D., Valentine, a holy priest in Rome in the days of Emperor Claudius II, was executed.

The emperor had to maintain a strong army, but was having a difficult time getting soldiers to join his military leagues. Claudius believed that Roman men were unwilling to join the army because of their strong attachment to their wives and families.
